Fall Guy - A Love Letter to Stunt People

Since there has been films, there have been stunt men and women. Fall Guy honored these hard working and often unheard of performers.
Look at the movie poster and tell me who those two people are. Odds are you either know them or it's on the tip of your tongue. Now, name one stunt person. Can't? Neither can I. But when the credits roll, their names are there. They take the hits when its deemed too dangerous for the actor.
Ryan Gosling plays stuntman Colt Seavers...I know awesome name right? He's the primary stuntman for actor Tom Ryder. The movie begins with a stunt going horribly wrong. After some time away he returns for Tom Ryder's latest space romance movie. He's told that Jodie, the director and a former flame, requested him specifically.
That's when the mystery really begins. Tom is missing and the producer hopes that he can find the missing actor.
Now, I'm a pretty clever person sometimes. I was sus of certain people from the get go. Figuring out what was going on with Tom and why Colt was hired was fairly easy to deduce.
The story kept me engaged and the action sequences were really well done. I read that there were actually five or so stunt performers for Ryan Gosling. They were lit on fire and slammed against rocks, surfed on a highway ontop a broken truck bed door.
It was silly and fun and for someone who loves behind the scenes stuff in movies, this was a very enjoyable movie. It's pure popcorn summer blockbuster. It's meant to be enjoyed, to turn your mind off and just enjoy the small ridiculous moments. I'm not the biggest Ryan Gosling fan (mostly jealous of his photoshop good looks), but he was great in this.
Overall, it was enjoyable. The jokes landed. The action was over the top. And Emily Blunt was her usual delightful self.
How would I rate it overall?

Two thumbs up.
But also 4/5.
